What is Apprenticeship:
Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Some apprenticeships will require a payment for the training, while others do not.
One local apprenticeship that does not require tuition payment (but would require the purchase of school books and tools) is Ventura County Electrical JATC. Check the link below to see when they will be accepting applications for the 2015 program.
The first year apprentice will have an hourly wage of $15.42/hour plus health insurance and receive raises every year of the 5 year program. This is a great way to start career!
See Mrs Peters in the College & Career Center for a flyer, call 805 604-0145 or visit NJATC for more information.
Other apprenticeship programs include:
Cabinet and Store Fixture
Carpenters Floor Workers
Insulator & Weatherstripping Installer
